According to reports, Hugh Jackman is in talks to join his old cast mates Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in director Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Just yesterday it was announced that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen would be joining the cast of the next X-Men film. We should have known by the title of X-Men: Days of Future Past that there would be some time travel being used, but it appears as though 20th Century Fox is looking to include as many previous X-Men characters as possible.

When this news broke yesterday, many fans assumed that the tweet hinted that director Bryan Singer had planned on including Wolverine as well when he ended his tweet with “More to come.” Considering Wolverine is one of the more popular characters in the franchise, this isn’t a total shock since Hugh Jackman has been the only one to branch out into his own solo film – not to mention the sequel The Wolverine, which is moving into post production.

THR is reporting that Hugh Jackman is “in talks” to reprise his role, but we don’t have much of an idea of the size of said role.

We do know that Singer is looking to use time travel in the film, but we can’t imagine they’d want to focus too much on Wolverine or Jackman since X-Men: First Class was focused on a much younger cast and core audience.

We can’t complain honestly, Hugh Jackman has always been the highlight of the X-Men franchise and rumors of him reprising his role in any way will get the media and fans chatting.

Hugh Jackman is also a hot commodity right now, as he will be starring in Les Miserables, which will undoubtedly be a smash hit this year as Oscar buzz has already begun after it recently had its first screenings. Plus, he’ll be starring in The Wolverine which hits theaters later this summer.

We’re definitely interested in seeing how director Bryan Singer plans to use Jackman’s character in X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is slated to hit theaters July 18, 2014.

Excited about Wolverine showing up in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’?
