Ge excited, musical theater nerds. Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are headed to Broadway to star in the musical classic, The Music Man!

Both Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are no strangers to musicals and Broadway. However, it’s been a while since both of them have graced a stage on the Great White Way.

Happily, that’s all about to change with The Music Man. As the Hollywood Reporter states, after a 6-year break for Foster and nearly 5 years for Jackman, both are returning to grace the stage as Marian Paroo and “Professor” Harold Hill respectively.

The musical announced the casting with an adorable image that not only got us excited about the future of the show, but payed homage to the amazing actors who starred in The Music Man in the past.

It’s a pretty impressive history, and Sutton and Jackman certainly have big shoes to fill. Of course, it is a task both actors are more than equipped for.

Though Foster has been most recently seen in TV Land’s Younger, she’s got quite the impressive Broadway resume. Foster won her first Tony in 2002 for her work in the show Thoroughly Modern Millie and she won again in 2011 for her role in Anything Goes. She’s also dazzled the stage in productions like Shrek, Sweet Charity, and more.

For his part, Jackman has also been nominated for Tony Awards, winning in 2004 for his role in The Boy From Oz and he received a Special Tony Award in 2012 for his contributions to the Broadway community.

We are so excited to see two talented actors take the stage in this beloved musical. Preview performances of The Music Man will begin in September of 2020 at a still-undecided Shubert theater, and the show will officially open on October 22.
