The Peter Pan origin story cooking over at Warner Bros. has a second trailer, featuring Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, and Cara Delevigne as an enchanting mermaid.

Back in November, we caught our first glance at Pan, the Joe Wright-directed origin story for J.M. Barrie’s classic fantasy tale.

While most Peter Pan stories actually center on Wendy and her brothers, Pan tells the story of Peter himself, showing how the small orphan boy was originally spirited off to Neverland and discovered his destiny.

The second trailer shows much more of Neverland, revealing the characters we love: Captain Hook (Garrett Hedlund), Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara), Mr. Smee (Adeel Akhtar) and of course Peter Pan himself (Levi Miller):

Amanda Seyfried also stars as Mary, with Hugh Jackman playing Blackbeard, the notorious pirate who brings Peter to Neverland. Blackbeard is the main villain of the piece, and the one whom Peter is destined to defeat.

The big twist in this movie is that Hook is actually a good guy: presented as an Indiana Jones-type character, Hook teams up with Peter and Tiger Lily against Blackbeard, and it looks like the pair have a lot of sweet bonding moments. Unfortunately, well, we know how that tale is destined to play out.

Pan is written by writer/actor Jason Fuchs, who is also working on DC’s Wonder Woman. The movie is set to be released on October 9, 2015.
