We got a chance to watch How to Get Away With Murder’s mid-season premiere early, and we can officially tell you that they definitely delivered on those answers. Well, at least some of them. The show is back with a vengeance, and if this episode is any indication, the final six episodes are going to be some of the best of the series.

The HTGAWM mid-season premiere will air on ABC on Thursday, April 2 at 10pm ET/PT. Until then, here are some spoiler-free teases for the episode!

Bonnie confronts someone about Ron

Bonnie finally discovered the truth about Ron’s innocence in one of the last HTGAWM episodes before the break. It was heartbreaking to see her realize that what she’d done to the man she loved could not be excused by his guilt.

We were expecting there to be a lot of fallout from Bonnie with Frank and Annalise, since they’d lied to her for so long, but her pain kind of got buried under everything else going on in the mid-season finale. However, in the HTGAWM mid-season premiere, Bonnie finally gets her chance to confront someone about what happened with Ron.

Someone pushes Oliver to confess

We saw Oliver confess to murder in one of the season 6 flash forward scenes, but in the HTGAWM mid-season premiere, we learn a little bit more.

Oliver didn’t simply confess because he felt guilty and wanted to help Connor, who had been arrested for Asher’s murder. While those things are true, he was also pushed by someone to confess to the crime.

We find out why Tegan helped Laurel

One of the most shocking moments from HTGAWM season 6 so far was when Laurel called Michaela and revealed that she was alive and well. She also confessed that Tegan helped both her and Christopher escape when things were getting really bad with her family.

This was a huge mystery since Tegan and Laurel weren’t exactly close. In fact, Tegan actually blamed Laurel for the bad things that had happened to her, claiming it was Laurel’s fault they were all caught up in the Castillo’s drama.

Luckily, we don’t have to wait any longer for this answer, as Tegan reveals the answer in the mid-season premiere. She also reveals something else that she’s done which could have even bigger implications.

Gabriel keeps two big secrets

Gabriel has weaseled his way into the Keating Five in some ways, but he’s still not nearly as involved as the rest of them in the murdery stuff. However, his hands aren’t exactly clean, as he holds himself responsible for taking the life of his mother’s boyfriend.

Gabriel feels the need to keep two huge secrets to himself in the HTGAWM mid-season premiere, which could say a lot about his character and just how innocent he actually is.

Frank returns to the scene of an ‘HTGAWM’ crime

Frank does a lot of crimes, so at this point a trip to almost anywhere in town could mean returning to a crime scene. That being said, Frank does return and snoop around in a particularly iconic How to Get Away With Murder crime scene in the mid-season premiere.

Connor has an important request denied

Connor and Michaela were both arrested for Asher’s murder in the last episode of season 6, so they’re both having a pretty rough time in the HTGAWM mid-season premiere. In his time of duress, Connor makes a very important request to someone that’s denied. We won’t say what the request is or who denies it, but the exchange definitely says a lot about the person who turns him down. Also, the denial could have a big impact on Connor in the final six episodes

Michaela finds an unlikely aly

Tegan showed up to represent “her client” in one of the HTGAWM season 6 flash forwards, but we didn’t know exactly who her client was. We presumed that it was either Connor, Michaela, or both, but in the mid-season premiere, both of them choose to go with alternative legal counsel.

Michaela makes a surprising selection for her own representative, finding an unlikely ally and confidante on one of the most difficult days of her life.
