According to reliable sources, shock jock and America’s Got Talent judge Howard Stern is poised to replace Jimmy Fallon in 2014.

The New York Post is reporting that NBC is in the process of “grooming” Howard (making him feel comfortable and appreciated) to replace Jimmy Fallon on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in 2014. Why, you ask? Apparently, if all goes as planned, the theory is that when Jay Leno’s contract is up in 2014 NBC will move Jimmy Fallon to The Tonight Show and have Howard replace Jimmy’s time slot.

Many have wondered why Howard Stern, who has no credited talent judging experience would want to judge a show like America’s Got Talent. It seems that it was part of a master plan to make the notorious Sirius XM radio show host appeal to not only a younger demographic but also prove that he’s someone who can have a personality on TV.

Though neither Stern’s agent nor NBC had any comment on the matter, Stern’s wife Beth has mentioned that she thinks Howard would be a great fit for late night television, according to the same New York Post article:

“I always say that to him! He is one of the best interviewers out there.”

When asked if she is going to talk Stern into potentially hosting Late Night, Beth’s reply was, “I am going to!”

Stern has had previous television ventures including a condensed version of his radio show on the E! network back in the ’90s. NBC is also known for keeping its talent “in-house,” to use for other resources and ventures.

Do you think Howard Stern would be a great late night talk show host? Also, do you think Jimmy Fallon has what it takes to take over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno?

We can’t help but wonder what Conan O’Brien is thinking about all of this! Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
