How We Hype is a twice-monthly feature on Hypable where we tell you what we’re doing in fandom over the weekend!

Attending Wizard World Fan Fest Chicago – Danielle Zimmerman

I can’t believe I haven’t been to a convention since August. It’s been so long. I can barely stand it! I can’t wait to walk through the giant doors of the convention center with one of my best friends and be surrounded by people that are just like me. Thank you, Bruce Campbell, for being so busy and awesome that your horror convention got bumped from this slot to August, allowing Wizard World to put together a last minute convention in my backyard. It’s going to be fantastic. I can’t wait to get my hands on some Peggy Carter art, see Caity Lotz in person, and have a spectacular day being surrounded by what I love and am passionate about. (If you’re going to be there too, tweet me!)

Marathoning ‘The 100’ – Laura Byrne Cristiano

I’ve been reading all the cool material that Selina has been giving me for Quote of the Week and Ship of the Week, and now I’m intrigued to give The 100 a try. I’m not sure if I’ll like it because dystopia isn’t always my thing, but I really want to try it. Hopefully it focuses more on the people rather than the situation. In other words, something like the Firefly vibe. If that’s the case then I’ll probably be into it.

Watching ‘House of Cards’ season 3 – Tariq Kyle

I know, I’m already behind. Most hardcore House of Cards fans have already consumed every new episode since it premiered on Netflix on February 27, but I chose to take the slower route. I’m all too familiar with the depression, annoyance and withdrawal that happens when you binge watch your favorite new show to completion, so I need to take this slow. I’m excited to get through the third season but I’m going to savor every moment!

‘Teen Wolf’ re-watch marathon – season 4 – Sonya Field

Teen Wolf has always been a series that I enjoyed, but had a hard time keeping up with. So for the past few weeks I’ve dedicated myself to watching the every episode from the past seasons. And I’ve finally made it to season 4! Let hope that I can finish it out before any spoilers ruin it for me!

Watching the ‘X-Men’ movies for the first time – Mitchel Clow

Yes, I know, never having seen the X-Men movies and writing for an entertainment website is pretty much blasphemy. But I’m amending that! Down with the pitchforks! My favorite character so far, as of X-2, is Rouge. Not only is she played by the gorgeous and youthfully doe-eye Anna Paquin, but she’s remarkably the least super out of the mutants, making her the easier to relate to.

Watching ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ – Christine Cannon

Recently my favorite show of all time, Parks and Recreation, ended and I’ve been looking for something to fill this black hole in my heart. Thankfully, Tina Fey has come to my rescue with a brand new Netflix series premiering this weekend. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt stars Ellie Kemper (The Office) as a young, naïve woman who has recently been released from an underground bunker after being trapped inside for 15 years. Oh, and she was also part of a doomsday cult and is now exploring all New York City has to offer. It’s pretty much everything I could ask for in a show, and as a New Yorker, I’m sold on any show set in my beloved city. Basically, I won’t be moving from my couch until I finish the entire first season

Rewatching ‘Eye Candy’ – Jen Lamoureux

I’ve been watching Eye Candy since it started in January and with the season coming to a close I feel like a rewatch is needed. Last week’s episode gave us a ton a back story about how Tommy, Ben and Lindy first met. It also showed us how George and Lindy met. With all the new information I wanted to watch from the beginning to look for new clues about who the killer might be. I have some serious theories that I hope come true. If you are not watching Eye Candy you are missing out on a truly great thriller.

Rereading ‘Insurgent’- Brittany Lovely

The nightmarish discrepancies that appear in the Insurgent trailer are hard to write off as a poor promotional material. Before the second movie in the Divergent series comes out, I want to have the knowledge to fairly rip it apart after viewing it. Between the controversial blog posts and odd dreamscape trailers I am fairly certain that the movie took more than a few “creative liberties.” After Divergent‘s adaptation did such a great job, in my opinion, from book to screen, I believe Insurgent is going to fall far below the bar its predecessor set.
