There are some actors that tend to show up again and again in shows run by Shonda Rhimes. Here are a few faces we’d love to see appear in How to Get Away with Murder next season.

If you’re a Shonda Rhimes fan, you know that she has a bevy of actors and actresses that like to make appearances in her multiple shows from time to time. Familiar faces have appeared in Grey’s Anatomy as a patient, and then showed up years later on Scandal in a totally different role. Continuing the tradition seems like something How to Get Away with Murder hasn’t largely embraced so far. Here are seven faces we would love to see show up on How to Get Away with Murder‘s newly announced season 3.

Kate Burton

She may have a regular gig playing Sally Langston on Scandal, but it seems like a right of passage that she appear in any show that Shonda plays an active role in. Maybe she could appear for just one episode? We haven’t yet met Connor’s parents, so it would be incredibly fun to see his mother appear in town, complicating everything already going on in his life. Plus, he and Oliver have gotten pretty serious pretty quickly, so it’s only a matter of time before Connor’s parents get curious about the significant other in their son’s life.

Dan Bucatinsky

He’s a Shondaland staple. His reign as Cyrus’ husband on Scandal was far too short-lived for our taste. He made Cyrus a better man, and it kills us not to be able to see him appear again. We would be somewhat placated to see him appear on How to Get Away with Murder, though. Maybe as a long-lost, possibly even childhood, friend of Annalise’s that shows up at the most inopportune moment. We’d love to see someone who knew Annalise before any of the craziness of her adult life began.

Gregg Henry

Gregg Henry is a TV staple these days. He’s appeared in everything from Scandal to Glee, and has played a myriad of different characters. Uptight fathers, loose-moraled politicians, and occasionally even a not-so-bad guy. We could see him being an upper-level law professor at the prestigious Philadelphia University we’ve seen little of since the beginning of season 1. It would be fun to see the show get back to the classroom for a little while, back to its roots.

Norm Lewis

He made his first Shondaland appearance in Scandal, but he made quite an impact on Olivia Pope in that time. Maybe he could be the new D.A., what with Emily Sinclair now out of the picture. Someone has to take her place and give Annalise a run for her money. Any character he plays could be a formidable foe for the HTGAWM juggernaut.

Jasika Nicole

Depending on how all this Laurel/Frank business plays out, Frank may be in the market for a new lady. This time, maybe he goes outside the law for affection and finds someone who never needs to know all his skeletons. Knowing How to Get Away with Murder, she could have some seriously crazy skeletons all her own, making her a prime candidate for the services of Keating and Associates by the end of the season.

Justin Bruening

You may remember this guy as the charming and sweet paramedic that almost won April Kepner’s heart. In fact, she may have been happier if Jackson hadn’t stood up at their wedding and screwed everything up, but alas, what’s done is done. He could play a variety of roles on How to Get Away with Murder, and he’d fit right in with all the beautiful people that make up the supporting cast.

Daniel Sunjata

If you think back to the days when single Miranda Bailey was roaming the halls, you may remember the nurse that was wooing her nightly. Daniel Sunjata’s character Eli may not have been around for long, but we definitely miss him. While we don’t see him making a triumphant return to the halls of Grey Sloane Memorial, we would happily take him on How to Get Away with Murder for a spell. Even if he was just a one-off character for a single-episode case, we’d love to see him back in Shondaland.
