How to Get Away With Murder season 1, episode 7, “He Deserved to Die,” aired tonight on ABC. Find out what came of Lila’s autopsy!

Last night’s episode of How to Get Away With Murder began on the night of Sam’s murder. They are all at Annalise’s house and Wes takes Rebecca to the upstairs bathroom to clean her up since she’s covered in blood. They head to the hotel and Rebecca begins to say that Sam was about to kill her which is why she saw the trophy and hit him over the head with it. Wes tells her not to do anything until he gets back but she is going crazy being alone.

It’s two weeks earlier and Rebecca is recapping the night of Lila’s death to the whole Murder Inc crew. She makes sure not to leave out her trademark snarkiness. As they are prepping for court Frank turns on the television to see a reporter revealing that Rebecca and Griffin slept together on the night of Lila’s murder. Immediately Annalise sends Bonnie to try and get a gag order in order to stop anymore information getting to the press.

While in a hearing regarding the gag order, Keagan asks to exhume Lila’s body so they can perform a second autopsy and they can prove that Rebecca was the soul murderer based on nail marks on Lila’s neck.

That night, Wes and Rebecca are back at Wes’s apartment and they begin to bond over Wes’s past and Rebecca’s struggle to change. He leans in to kiss her but she runs out before anything actually happens. Considering there’s only two weeks before Sam’s murder they better start getting cozy fast.

The next morning, Michaela has an interview at Sterling & White, a law firm that seems to have shown interest in her for their summer associate position. When she gets to the law firm, however, she is surprised find that she is actually there to sign a prenuptial agreement before her wedding. Well, that was awkward.

Back at the office Sam tells Annalise that Lila’s parents didn’t like or trust Griffin because of his religious beliefs. They believed he was pressuring her and trying to control her. With that information she decides to send Laurel and Frank to Mrs. Stangard. It works and Mrs. Stangard heads to court and gives an emotional speech as to why they shouldn’t exhume Lila.

Annalise meets up with Nate after Wendy Parks flipped sides and ran with the finger nail theory. Nate doesn’t want to help her, though, because he knows she hasn’t been playing an honest game either.

Since Nate can’t help, Bonnie sends all the boys to try and get information out of Wendy Park’s assistant, Ally. Connor gets completely drunk and just starts talking to her about Olive (otherwise known as Oliver) while Asher just hits on some other cute girl at the bar. Nice work, boys. Wes is the only one to get any information and he learns that Wendy and Keagan worked out a plea deal if Wendy supported the exhumation.

In order to stop the plea deal from happening, they decide that Rebecca will leak information to the press. Rebecca claims that Griffin raped her the night of Lila’s murder which is a hefty allegation considering they will exhume the body anyway.

Wes is pretty pissed over how things went down and leaves court without Rebecca. She confronts him and starts yelling at him for having no life. Wes counters her saying that he was only trying to help her out which leads Rebecca to jump on his face. And then his body.

Connor heads over to Oliver’s apartment with a huge bouquet of flowers and it’s so sweet to see him so nervous. Unfortunately another guy opens the door and gently suggests that if he cares about Oliver at all then he should never contact him again.

Still all about love, Laurel is about to leave the office when she runs into Frank. He admits that he has deeper feelings for her but he’ll just have to get over it. Laurel says she doesn’t want him to get over it and they start getting hot and heavy right on the front porch.

At the same time, Rebecca heads in a convenience store to grab ice cream when she runs into Nate. He confronts her and says that he knows she isn’t the murderer and that they both know who is.

In the final scene, Sam and Annalise are having an intimate moment when Bonnie knocks on the door. She is there to tell them that the marks on Lila’s neck were only ant bites. Oh, and that Lila was six weeks pregnant. Sam, Sam, Sam. This is quite the mess you’ve gotten yourself into.
