Tonight on How to Get Away With Murder season 1, episode 12, “She’s a Murderer,” even more evidence is found in the Sam Keating murder case.

This week’s episode of How to Get Away With Murder opens up to the gang all at Wes’ apartment, freaking out over the news that Sam’s body was found. Laurel calls Frank, but he tells her that every single thing they do will be watched by the police and it’s important they don’t make any phone calls.

At Annalise’s house the police show up and break the news to Annalise and Hannah that Sam’s body was found in a landfill. Hannah starts breaking down and accusing Annalise of murder while Annalise remains relatively stoic through the whole ordeal.

Annalise chooses to go the strong female route as opposed to devastated widow and decides to show up to work. She goes into class and since she can’t speak with her students over the phone, she sends them a message in class. She basically says that they can’t say anything to the police because all they will do is twist their words around.

In this week’s case, Annalise is called upon by an old client of hers. The Lombardos are a powerful mob family and Paul Lombardo was caught smuggling heroin and was arrested with possession and intent to distribute. Asher and Frank study the security cameras from the night of the discovery and see that the cops showed up even before they looked inside the crate. It seems like someone from inside the family business tipped off the police. Unfortunately, they can’t use this in court so they have to find a different angle.

In court, Annalise decides to put the police officer who checked the container on the stand. She speaks to him about Pedro, an employee that quit only a day before the heroin was discovered. Under oath, Pedro admits that he was told to check that container by the prosecutor and promised a green card for him and his wife.

Bonnie comes in and tells them that police have a warrant to search the house because Hannah went to the police and told them that Annalise threatened to kill Sam. Annalise sends her and Asher off to fight the warrant because it will be a conflict of interest if she were to go. In court, Hannah tells a story about how one time, three years ago, Annalise threw a paperweight at Sam’s head during an argument. Bonnie tries to go up against this story but ends up losing and the police go ahead with the search. Inside they find the scales, but they don’t seem immediately suspicious. The forensics team looks for traces of blood but never find anything.

Annalise calls Connor into her office after she hears him talking about her. She wants him to say those things to her face. She goes on to say that the two of them have a lot in common. They are both warriors and there’s no way he’ll ever trust her, but he has no other option.

Bonnie is quickly becoming suspicious and brings the trophy into Annalise’s office. She tells Annalise that she knows about the carpet and she knows it was the students who did it. She says she can’t let these kids ruin her and needs to start responding to the police so she doesn’t look guilty.

The next morning the FBI shows up at her house because they found evidence in the woods. They bring her in for questioning and show her a picture of a man’s wedding ring. Sam’s ring was found in the woods with one fingerprint on it. The fingerprint belonged to none other than Nate Lahey, courtesy of Frank.

The episode ends with Annalise crawling into bed looking like a mixture of scared and devastated while she calls her mother.
