Another week, and another survivor revealed on How to Get Away with Murder. We may not be quite as excited about this one, but it makes us even more nervous for the remaining Keating 5 and company.

Last week we learned that Oliver is off the hook when it comes to possible death in season 3. This week we discovered the identity of someone else who isn’t under the sheet. Most importantly, we watched Annalise slap the hell out of a client who definitely needed a wake up call. Or, as we would like to call it, a wake up slap.

The other item of utmost importance was Oliver’s reaction to seeing the one and only Nate Lahey in the flesh. We totally understand your distraction, you tech genius you.

A pain in the ass client

While not super important to the season-long arc, Annalise’s latest client for her pro-bono seminar students is a huge pain the ass. That pain only seems to get worse the more we get to know him. His crimes, the killing of two 20-something females in sex-related incidents forced a few confrontations. Bonnie faced her personal issues once again, Michaela escaped into gambling, and Annalise almost lost the life she’s built for herself.

There’s nothing worse than defending a murder suspect who admits to a totally different murder while you’re representing him. Thankfully, Annalise takes complications in stride and finds a way to come out on top.

Castillo family reunion

We’ve heard about the legendary figure that is Laurel’s dad since the very beginning of this series. This week, we finally met the man, the myth, the monster in the flesh. Laurel went to her dad to figure out Frank’s location, what with how her father has bugged her calls and used the voicemails she left Frank to locate the cell tower nearest him.

In addition to locating Frank, we also learned why exactly the relationship between Laurel and her father is so fractured. Not only did he leave her mother during a delicate medical situation, but apparently he refused to pay a ransom when Laurel was kidnapped. Those circumstances would complicate any father/daughter relationship.

In touch with Frank

It may not have been long, but Frank and Laurel found a chance to talk in this episode. Laurel made sure that it was kept very brief, due to her father’s bugging of her phone. She didn’t want Frank to say anything that could incriminate himself or implicate her.

Annalise comes out on top

The most important part of this episode showed exactly how Annalise was able to turn a train wreck of a case into good PR that could potentially save her career. She quite effectively turned lemons into lemonade. With the university’s hierarchy looking for any reason to suspend or fire Ms. Keating, every case she takes must work out in her favor.

In addition to helping course-correct her career and reputation, Annalise and company aided a mother in locating her child, and putting whatever long-held hope of reuniting the two to rest. This show doesn’t always err on the side of moralistic or hopeful, but seeing Bonnie and Annalise be more interested in finding a way to help this mother finally mourn was heartening.

And our second survivor is…

Bonnie!

In the closing scenes of the episode, we learned Bonnie Winterbottom is not the victim under the sheet. Annalise’s right hand lady is there to confirm with Oliver that Annalise’s phone had been wiped clean before being left behind for the police to find.

Most importantly, we learned that another, still living, body was found in the burning house. We know one victim is all but confirmed, there’s a possibility of another, and a lot of characters still vulnerable to becoming that dead body.

How do you feel learning that Bonnie is not under the sheet in ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 3?
