In next week’s How I Met Your Mother episode, Lily and Marshall will be trying to decide on Marvin’s godparents using the game “Who Wants to be a Godparent.”

In the episode, which airs October 15, Lily and Marshall can’t decide on who to choose as godparents for Marvin Waitforit. So naturally, they put the gang to the test to see who would make the best one, putting a “spin” on the old Who Wants to be a Millionaire? game.

It’s typical Marshall and Lily to come up with such a complicated (but seemingly fun) way to figure out this problem.

But why do you think they can’t decide? You would assume that Ted would be the natural choice for one of the two positions, so why is he in the game? As for the other spot, we suppose an argument could be made for (or against) both Robin and Barney.

We can’t wait to see what comes of this tournament however, and we’re hoping for a specially crafted theme song from Marshall for the occasion!

This is also the episode in which we’ll get to see Marvin Waitforit at various stages of childhood: August Maturo will play Marvin at age 6, while Jakob Sarkissian will play him at age 12/14.

The guest start for this episode also include Ned Rolsma as Marshall’s brother Marcus – although not pictured in the stills, maybe he’ll be in the running for godfather, too?

What did you think about yesterday’s episode “Nannies”? Are you happy that Marshall and Lily have a lot of centric storylines?
