The stars have aligned and Battlestar Galactica‘s Michael Trucco is able to return to How I Met Your Mother in season 8! Will he reprise his romance with Robin?

TV Line reports that Trucco, who appeared in an episode of season 6, will be back on the show this year for a multi-episode arc.

Older Ted has hinted that the character would return as a more substantial love interest for Robin, but because of Trucco’s work on Fairly Legal, the producers cautioned in interviews that they might not be able to bring back the actor.

Knowing as we do that Robin ends up marrying Barney we can pretty much guarantee that this romance won’t end well. Nonetheless it’ll be great to see Trucco back on the show, and to see Robin with a new guy!
