How I Met Your Mother season 9, episode 7, “No Questions Asked “airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Marshall is going to be enlisting Barney for help in some espionage.

The gang on How I Met Your Mother have all manners of inside jokes and shared phrases in their lexicon: including slap bets and doppelgängers. On tonight’s episode, it looks like we’ll be introduced to a new one: the concept of “no questions asked.”

In the episode aptly titled “No Questions Asked,” Marshall will reach out to Barney to remove an incriminating text on Lily’s phone.

The incriminating text is from Marshall’s travel buddy/big oil corporate lobbyist, Daphne, who stole Marshall’s phone in a fit of anger to text Lily the news that Marshall has accepted a job as a judge in New York state.

Barney will undoubtedly enlist Robin and/or Ted in this crucial mission due to its importance (and due to the fact that Robin and Ted don’t have a b-plot mentioned in CBS’ official preview synopsis).

It was initially rumored that this episode was swapped with last week’s episode 6, “Knight Vision.” That now seems erroneous given how much of this week’s plot will hinge on a text sent last week but it could be fun to watch for clues that this was intended to air earlier anyway.
