The description for the fourth How I Met Your Mother episode of season 4, “Who Wants to be a Godparent?” has been revealed by CBS!
In the episode, Marshall and Lily will (as the title indicates) struggle to appoint Marvin Waitforit’s godparents! That should make for some great group awkwardness eh?
The official description released by CBS reads:
“Who Wants To Be A Godparent” — When Lily and Marshall can’t decide on godparents for Marvin, they put the gang to the test to see who would make the best one.

It is interesting that Marshall and Lily would decide this via a test – especially considering that you’d assume that Robin would automatically be godmother, and that Ted (being Marshall’s best and oldest friend, and much closer to Lily than Barney is) would be the godfather!
Guest stars for this episode include Ashley Williams as Victoria, Michael Trucco as Nick, Ned Rolsma as Marcus (suggesting that Marshall’s brother may also be in the running for godfather), and Nicole Limo as Christie.
We’ll also get to see Marvin in various stages of aging! August Maturo will play Marvin at age 6, while Jakob Sarkissian will play him at age 12/14. Looks like this will be a pretty Eriksen-centric episode all around!
Interestingly, the cast list also includes Lyndsy Fonseca and David Henrie, who of course play Ted’s children. Will it just be more stock footage showing them acting surprised and/or bored, or will we actually get to see some new (or old, but new to the audience) clips of them doing something different?
How I Met Your Mother returns next Monday for the second episode of the season, entitled “The Pre-Nup.” Get ready for some crazy Barney/Quinn antics, as they both prepare outrageous pre-nup agreements for the other!
