The second episode of How I Met Your Mother‘s eighth season, “The Pre-Nup,” sees Barney and Quinn battle it out with pre-nup agreements!

CBS has released the following statement about “The Pre-Nup,” which airs on October 1:

When Barney designs an extensive pre-nup, the guys take note and propose their own relationship amendments to their significant others. Meanwhile, Quinn is outraged and draws up a pre-nup of her own, which causes friction between the sexes.

Do you think this is the episode which breaks up Quinn and Barney? It definitely sounds like it’ll cause some sparks to fly, but even though Quinn isn’t the one Barney eventually wedding-suits up for, there is still some great potential to explore their relationship, so we can’t help hoping that she sticks around for a few more episodes!

Aside from Becki Newton, the other guests stars in this episode include Bob Odenkirk, who returns as Barney’s lawyer Arthur, and we also see Victoria (Ashley Williams), Marshall’s parents Judy and Marvin (Suzie Plakson and Bill Fagerbakke), and Michael Trucco as Robin’s new love interest Nick. Klaus, Victoria’s fiance, will also make an appearance, to be played by Thomas Lennon.

Perhaps most intriguingly, we have two kid actors scheduled to appear: Gibson Sjobek will be playing Young Marcus (Marshall’s brother), while Blake Bertrand will playing Young Marvin Jr.! So it looks like we’ll get to see Lily and Marshall’s kid a bit more grown up – although we wonder why the only other child in the episode is Young Marcus, not Young Marshall? The boys look strikingly similar, too.

Are you looking forward to meeting Lily and Marshall’s son? We have previously reported that we’ll see him at various points of his childhood, and it’ll be interesting to see more of the gang’s lives in between present day and the future which Ted is narrating from.
