The HISHE team has perfectly illustrated a major flaw in Ultron’s plan in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The main villain of Avengers: Age of Ultron was Ultron, the sentient robot (and/or digital brain composite) brilliantly brought to life by James Spader.

In Joss Whedon’s smash hit movie, Ultron is accidentally created by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), and proceeds to hack into the Internet and infiltrate every area of the digital realm.

As this video in the How It Should Have Ended cartoon parody series proves, however, Ultron could have gone about the whole destruction-of-humanity thing in a much more straightforward way:

With Ultron able to control all network-based technology, not only could he shut off cable TV and rob Thor of his beloved Game of Thrones (the horror!), but he could render all the Avengers’ tech useless in an instant.

And without their gadgets, the rag-tag team of modern superheroes is effectively rendered completely useless.

A hilarious scene shows Ultron telling all his supervillain buddies (including Voldemort, the Joker and Bowser) just how easy it was to distract the Avengers while he set a meteor on the course for Earth… and yeah, that’s the end of all humanity.

Except Batman. Because he’s Batman.

While Ultron’s plans were ultimately more narcissistic and experimental (luckily, as it allowed our heroes a chance to turn the tide), it’s always fun to see how easily it is to find faults with fictional supervillains’ evil schemes.

After all, after every “I want to rule the world” proclamation comes the inevitable, “So… what now?” if/when they win.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ arrives on DVD and Blu-ray later this year.
