In the early hours of Friday, Netflix unveiled a new House of Cards season 2 trailer which features lots of incredible new footage.

Though thankfully the plot of House of Cards season 2 is kept under wraps in this new trailer, we do see Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) encountering a problem – the new Vice President – that has him wanting to engage in an all-out war.

“You are out of line, Frank,” warns one Congressman. “The tip of your iceberg is melting,” says another. “I have no choice but to retaliate,” says Frank. As usual, his wife Claire Underwood voices her support for his decisions.

House of Cards season 2 premieres February 14, 2014 with all 13 episodes on Netflix.

A new synopsis with the video drops a couple of interesting tidbits about the plot of the forthcoming season. Perhaps most surprising is the confirmation that Frank is now indeed Vice President:

Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) has masterfully maneuvered his way into the Vice Presidency, but his ascension faces threats on all fronts…

Investigative reporter Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) is inching closer to the truth about Frank and Peter Russo (Corey Stoll) and will stop at nothing to break the story.

And Frank’s wife Claire (Robin Wright), the newly appointed Second Lady, must deal with the bright glare of the spotlight and how the intense scrutiny eats away at their once private existence

A separate synopsis released earlier this months warns of the Underwood family’s ruthlessness. “The Underwood’s must overcome these dangers — past and present — to avoid losing everything, regardless of collateral damage they leave in their wake.”

House of Cards season 2 looks to be even more exciting than season 1. Don’t you agree?
