Why so bitter about the new Ghostbusters? The black sheep sequel already ruined your childhoods back in 1989.

“Before you see the reboot that the internet thinks will be an unfunny attempt to catch in on your nostalgia for the original Ghostbusters, revisit the unfunny attempt at a sequel that kinda already took care of that.”

Preach, Screen Junkies!

“If you loved the first Ghostbusters movie, then you should definitely watch that one instead,” this brilliant Honest Trailer proclaims, pointing out just how ridiculous the hate for the new Ghostbusters is considering that Ghostbusters 2, you know, exists.

First of all, it makes no sense that nobody remembers what happened in New York only five years ago. Second, it’s the exact same plot as in the first movie.

“So before you go and see the movie that people have decided will ruin the franchise before they’ve even seen it, revisit the movie that already ruined the franchise. Unless you think the franchise was already ruined by that terrible video game. Or that other terrible video game. Or Extreme Ghostbusters. Or this embarrassing cameo in the Casper movie.” Etc, etc, etc.

Stay tuned until the very end, where the Screen Junkies reveal that the original Ghostbusters was actually — you guessed it — a remake of sorts, of the 1946 Spook Busters. Check out a clip below:

Yeah, remaking the original is never a good idea…

The new ‘Ghostbusters’ is out in theaters Friday, July 15!
