Oscar night is almost here, and the Screen Junkies celebrate with an Honest Trailer breaking down the Best Picture nominees.

Ahh, the Oscars. The ultimate night of escapism where we get to see all our favorite Hollywood A-listers in one place, and root for our favorite movies and performances. It’s the Super Bowl of the entertainment industry, and we’re all helpless to resist the glitz and glamour.

Or are we? The Screen Junkies certainly take their best shot at de-mystifying the Academy Awards, pointing out all the hypocrisy and pointlessness hidden behind the fancy gowns and shiny trophies, and poking fun at the supposed “best pictures” of 2016:

The Honest Trailer points out how quickly we forget last year’s winners, and goes on to troll the eight Best Picture nominees of 2016.

In a nutshell: The Big Short is super confusing, Mad Max: Fury Road is full of Australians, The Revenant is (probably) Leo DiCaprio’s way to “grunt himself to an Oscar,” Spotlight is a “well-acted, super depressing episode” of Datenight, and Bridge of Spies is… just kind of average.

The Martian is Castaway in space (or Gravity on Mars) and definitely not a comedy, Brooklyn is the one nobody’s seen, and Room is actually “one of the best movies of the year,” despite the fact that they say the word “room” a heck of a lot.

Also, stay tuned for an #OscarsSoWhite reference, that’s short and to the point, pointing out that The Big Short maybe should have been swapped out for Straight Outta Compton.

Well… still excited for the Oscars? If YES, tune in Sunday, February 28 at 5:30 PM. The 88th Academy Awards are hosted by Chris Rock.
