With Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory right around the corner, the Honest Trailer guys have put together their takedown of Finding Nemo.

The Screen Junkies are taking on Finding Nemo this week, brilliantly pointing out all the movie’s flaws while still clearly loving the old Pixar classic:

Basically, it’s “90 minutes of tears and torture,” feeding you your worst marine nightmares in a formulaic Pixar story wrapping. BUT it’s also a beautiful, moving story of a dad searching for his son.

About that last point? Uhhhh. Let’s not think about that.

Finding Nemo came out all the way back in 2003, and became an instant Pixar classic. Its successor Finding Dory brings back many of the original voice actors, obviously led by Dory herself, Ellen DeGeneres.

Finding Dory tells the story of how Dory finds her way back to her parents, accompanied by Marvin (Albert Brooks), Nemo (Hayden Rolence), and a couple of brand new — to Dory, at least — friends. Let’s hope audiences like Dory more than the Screen Junkies seem to!

Here’s the official synopsis for Finding Dory, out in theaters Friday, June 17:

“Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory welcomes back to the big screen everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang Dory (voice of Ellen DeGeneres), who’s living happily in the reef with Nemo (voice of Hayden Rolence) and Marlin (voice of Albert Brooks). When Dory suddenly remembers that she has a family out there who may be looking for her, the trio takes off on a life-changing adventure across the ocean to California’s prestigious Marine Life Institute, a rehabilitation center and aquarium. In an effort to find her mom (voice of Diane Keaton) and dad (voice of Eugene Levy), Dory enlists the help of three of the MLI’s most intriguing residents: Hank (voice of Ed O’Neill), a cantankerous octopus who frequently gives employees the slip; Bailey (voice of Ty Burrell), a beluga whale who is convinced his echolocation skills are on the fritz; and Destiny (voice of Kaitlin Olson), a nearsighted whale shark. Deftly navigating the complex innerworkings of the MLI, Dory and her friends discover the magic within their flaws, friendships and family.”
