Homeland season 3 has been a roller coaster of a storyline, and tonight we’ll finally see Saul’s plan come to a successful (?) conclusion.

This evening’s Homeland season 3 finale – episode 12 titled “The Star” – will presumably pick up right after last week’s episode in which Brody killed General Akbari. Our hero will have to somehow escape the building in which he met the leader of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. Perhaps he’ll have some assistance from Javadi, who we know is in the same area?
Last week, Akbari’s murder didn’t go as planned. For a little while it looked like Brody wanted to stay in Iran and enjoy asylum, but by the end – as Carrie had predicted – he went through with his promise. Check out our latest Homeland recap to refresh yourself about what happened in episode 11.
No clips from “The Star” have been released, but a trailer offers a speech from Brody in which he talks about redemption:
The synopsis for the season finale reads, “season 3 ends with security forces closing in on Carrie and Brody, and Brody struggling to find redemption. Meanwhile, Saul plans a last-ditch rescue mission.”
Homeland season 3, episode 12 airs Sunday, December 15 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on Showtime.
If you’re sad about the show coming to an end for the year, the good news is that Showtime has already renewed Homeland for season 4. It will likely premiere in September 2014.
The start of Homeland season 3 started out rocky but ended up turning into one of our favorite shows of the fall/winter 2013 season.
