A new trailer for Homeland season 4 brings to light why Carrie is going to Pakistan and how her co-workers will respond.

Carrie will be heading to Pakistan to investigate an attack on Islamabad that’s gone viral on YouTube, this new Homeland season 4 trailer reveals. Saul will get involved after Carrie can’t help but admit that she needs his help, while her family reacts negatively to her move overseas.

The trailer, viewable above, also sheds a little more light on Corey Stoll’s (House of Cards) character and a plot line in which Carrie helps a boy who lost his family get out of Pakistan.

Homeland showrunners have been promising us that Carrie will return to her original job: “a case officer in a foreign capital,” and this trailer reiterates that claim. Will it be enough to entice viewers who were always tuning in for the story of Brody, however?

One thing Homeland has always done well is keep the intensity high during CIA missions. We are always on the edge of our seats when Carrie and Saul are in the middle of operations that are keeping the country safe. This trailer looks like the new episodes may deliver that same level of drama.

Just yesterday we shared with you a new promotional video which depicts Carrie and Saul working together to light up some bad guys.

Homeland season 4, featuring a two-hour premiere, launches Sunday, October 5 on Showtime.
