Buckle in for a long night of CIA drama: The Homeland season 4 premiere will run for two hours on Sunday, October 5.

Showtime made the announcement Monday and cited the season 3 finale as the reason the season 4 premiere will be super-sized. “In the aftermath of Homeland’s stunning finale last season, there is such strong anticipation for the start of season four that we wanted to give Homeland fans an extra generous helping of Carrie and company,” the network said in a statement.

Technically speaking the two-hour Homeland season 4 premiere will be episode 1 and episode 2 of the show. We expect lots of world building as we explore Carrie’s life post-Brody. Hopefully after two hours of storytelling, the show will be at an exciting pace.

Showtime also announced today that they’ll be pushing the series premiere of The Affair back one week to October 12 to accommodate two hours of Homeland on October 5.
