Carrie will go to any lengths to get what she wants, as tonight’s Homeland season 4 episode proves.

Just when you thought you couldn’t be in for another surprise at this level, Homeland season 4, episode 4 comes out with a hookup at the end that you probably didn’t see coming until the director decided to draw out a bed-making scene.

It was an interesting episode for Aayan, the kid who started all of this trouble. At the beginning of the episode he returns to his friend’s home, where he learns that his medicine bag he left there for safekeeping has been destroyed, and her dad has reported him to his school for stealing drugs.

He goes to Carrie’s new office and asks for 80,000 rupees, perhaps so he can get back his supplies. Fara and Max tail him to the nursing school, where Aayan tries to give someone the money, but she rejects it.

Meanwhile, Quinn breaks into Fahrad’s home in order to be able to track his phone’s activities. They want to continue monitoring him, but Fahrad appears to be packing to head out of town, so Carrie wants to take him down immediately. They almost go through with it (against Quinn’s wishes), but Fara discovers Aayan meeting with Haqqani, the man who was supposedly killed during the airstrike. Twist! To make matters worse, Aayan is giving his bag to Haqqani. Carrie and Quinn allege that Sandy was killed and the Taliban claimed Haqqani was dead so that the CIA would back away from the situation. There’s still one mystery: Why does the ISI want the CIA to think Haqqani’s dead too?

It seems like Sandy was purposely given bad information to protect Haqqani, but there are still many questions to be answered.

Fara (who’s been a rock star recently) gets Aayan to the safe house, which is Carrie’s apartment. He thinks he’s going to be immediately fleeing the country, but Carrie knocks him down a few pegs. After calming him down (she says it’s only going to take a couple days), viewers watch an extended scene where Carrie and Aayan make up a bed for him. You may’ve noticed where this is going based on how long this drags out.

After Aayan emotionally reveals that he’s been kicked out of school, Carrie begins to comfort him with a hand on the knee. And then on his thigh. And then a full blown make out session which surely turned into something more.

Carrie decided to get romantically involved with him so he will feel emotionally attached to her. This is her way of finding out why he was with Haqqani, and this could hopefully keep him on her side. Carrie presumably purchased a couple episode’s worth of emotional attachment, which may be enough to get what she needs before he runs away from her.

Elsewhere…

– The Ambassador’s husband Dennis is a teacher, and he is the person who is responsible for leaking information to Sandy! In light of a mystery woman discovering that Dennis is a mole, he goes to his wife to let her know he’s leaving immediately (but obviously doesn’t reveal the true reason why). The couple fight about it, and the Ambassador paints him as a worthless person, but it’s all for nothing; he’s later pressured by the same mystery woman into staying in the country.

– Saul’s about to leave the country when Carrie enlists him for help tracking down Fahrad. Later, Saul gets lectured for trying to get close to the situation by a Pakistani general. It wasn’t a good episode for Saul because he wasn’t able to get any good information for Carrie. But you know what… this is keeping him away from his wife in America, so he must be happy.

What do you think of ‘Homeland’ season 4, episode 4?

Not on display this week was Quinn’s romantic interests in Carrie. We just hope he doesn’t find out what she did with Aayan. Actually, we do hope he finds out. He’ll be livid.
