Homeland continues to add new cast members to its season 4 roster as filming continues in South Africa.

The newest cast members to join Homeland season 4 are Raza Jaffrey (Smash) and Michael O’Keefe (King & Maxwell, Roseanne). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former is setting into a “heavily recurring role.”

“Jaffrey will play Aasar Khan, a decorated lieutenant-colonel in the Pakistan intelligence service,” says THR. “(The setting for Homeland’s fourth season is Abbottabad, Pakistan.) As for O’Keefe, he’ll play deputy station chief John Redmond, stationed in the CIA’s Pakistan outpost and serving as No. 2 to [Corey] Stoll’s character. He’ll butt heads with Carrie.”

Earlier this month Showtime announced that Laila Robins and Corey Stoll are other new comes for Homeland season 4, which will be filming primarily in South Africa.

Those who are worried about Saul’s involvement with the story needn’t worry; Despite losing his position in season 3, he will have a “central” role in season 4.

The synopsis for the new season says that Carrie is “assigned to one of the most volatile and dangerous CIA stations in the Middle East where she is back on the front lines in the war on terror.”

Homeland season 4 will be a reboot of sorts for the Showtime CIA drama following the death of one of the series’ lead characters at the end of season 3. Though an important character, it was also important that he be killed at some point in order to maintain a believable storyline.

The new season will premiere this fall on Showtime.
