Showtime has released a slew of photos from Homeland season 3’s premiere episode, which bows on September 29.

The stills are wide-ranging and offer glimpses into the storyline. For nearly a year we’ve waited to see how the government, Carrie, and Saul would recover from the brutal terrorist attack depicted in the Homeland season 2 finale.

The photos below show off several moments from the episode: Peter Quinn on a tense mission that requires him to wield his weapon. Saul Berenson on trial in front of a committee testifying on the events that took place in the season 2 final terrorist attack. Carrie’s father making a phone call to Carrie. Saul’s wife Mira. Dana in a sort of support group and with an apparent love interest.

Does anything in particular stand out to you in these early glimpses? Completely absent is Nicholas Brody, who does not appear in the first two episodes of the season. Also missing is Carrie, but we can assure you she’s very present and very troubled in episode 1.

Homeland season 3 premieres Sunday, September 29 on Showtime. The first episode leaked online last week via a press screener. The episode was near-complete save for a couple visual effects that needed to be added to depict the site of the terrorist attack.
