Another gem from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling just dropped on Twitter: It costs 0 galleons to attend Hogwarts.

While spending her Friday evening tweeting her support for #BackTheBBC* (Seriously, she’s been tweeting a lot tonight), Rowling snuck in an answer to a Wizarding World question from a loyal follower.

When asked if students at Hogwarts have to pay tuition to attend the school of witchcraft and wizardry, Rowling revealed that the Ministry of Magic foots the bill for all students:

It’s just another reason why we’re desperate to go to Hogwarts.

Here in America, the cost of college tuition is a major issue the younger generations have to face. The average price of attending a university continues to climb, and loans do little to help alleviate people’s troubles. If/when Muggles do graduate college, they then have to deal with high interest rates on the already expensive loans.

We can’t feel too jealous of wizards and witches, because Rowling told us in June that we all went to Hogwarts. That remark offers some solace, right? (Our bank accounts just yelled “No!”)

That wasn’t the only tidbit the Harry Potter author dropped on Twitter this week. Rowling recently used her account to share this bit of info about Luna Lovegood’s birthday:

She also confirmed that a few new characters in Fantastic Beasts will be graduates of an American wizarding school (details of which are still a mystery):

*#BackTheBBC is a movement to stop the public-funded television organization from being a part of proposed budget cuts in the United Kingdom. In instead of it being funded by a corporation, residents pay a fee to keep the British Broadcasting Corporation running.
