Hocus Pocus 2 is a go and Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are all on board to return as the Sanderson Sisters!

It’s been nearly three decades since the Sanderson Sisters put their spell on us, but they’re gearing up to make a huge comeback.

On Thursday (May 20), Disney+ announced that Hocus Pocus 2 is officially a go and will debut via the stremer sometime next year. As if that weren’t exciting enough, news of the sequel bowing in 2022 also comes with word that original stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy have all signed on to star in the sequel.

They’ll be reprising their roles as Winifred, Sarah, and Mary, respectively. This time around, it’ll be three young women who accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to a modern day Salem. From there, the girls must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.

Midler, Parker, and Najimy all took to Instagram shortly after news broke to spread the word of their involvement with Hocus Pocus 2 to fans far and wide, each sharing the title card for the sequel along with a few choice words.

“Sistaaaahs! It’s been 300 years… But we’re BACK!” Wrote Midler.

“Yep. I’m ready. To run. Amok, amok, amok, amok,” added Parker.

“The people have spoken: I smell children…again,” wrote Najimy.

Behind the camera, Anne Fletcher will serve as director on Hocus Pocus 2, with Adam Shankman serving as a producer on the project. Shankman was originally set to direct Hocus Pocus 2 but has since stepped away from directing duties due to scheduling conflicts. Currently, he’s serving as director on Disney’s Enchanted sequel, Disenchanted.

Hocus Pocus 2 arrives on Disney+ in the Fall of 2022.
