The Hobbit‘s first television commercial was released today on the film’s official Facebook page.

“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit,” the spot begins. The commercial features a few new clips including interaction between Gandalf (Ian McKellen), Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), and the always entertaining Gollum (voiced by Andy Serkis). Warner Bros. is primarily touting the fact that this film will show you how The Lord of the Rings story started.

The advertisement goes on to confirm that tickets go on sale November 7. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters December 14. Part two, The Desolation of Smaug, will be released December 13, 2013. There and Back Again, part three, will be released July 18, 2014. All three are directed by Peter Jackson.
