The Hobbit stars scheduled to appear include Martin Freeman (Bilbo), Richard Armitage (Thorin), Benedict Cumberbatch (Smaug), Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Orlando Bloom, Stephen Fry, Dean O’Gorman, Aidan Turner, William Kircher, Manu Bennett, John Bell, Ryan Gage, composer Howard Shore, and writer/producer/director Peter Jackson.

The Desolation of Smaug is the second in Jackson’s three-part Hobbit story and is scheduled to hit theaters December 13 worldwide. Earlier today Air New Zealand’s Hobbit plane touched down in Los Angeles just in time for the premiere and revealed our first full look at Smaug himself.

The movie follows Bilbo, Gandalf, and the dwarves as they continue their quest towards the Lonely Mountain, which houses the terrifying and huge dragon Smaug. Along the way, their journey is interrupted by iconic moments like run-ins with huge spiders in the forest of Mirkwood and running down a stream in barrels to avoid endless attacks by Orcs.
