The new poster for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug premiered on MSN, but it’s now availble at a higher resolution via Screen Crush.

The scene appears to be straight out of The Hobbit chapter eight. Titled “Flies and Spiders” this is the scene where spoiler the dwarves get captured by the spiders (except for Thorin, he gets captured by an elf). Bilbo also kills a spider with his sword before naming it “Sting.”

Along with the poster comes a very exciting announcement: Warner Bros. will be unveiling a new The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug trailer tomorrow, October 1. The first trailer was debuted in June. While that trailer was very epic, we hope this trailer shows us more of the great story in this chapter of The Hobbit.

It’s been some time since we’ve gotten any good news out of The Hobbit camp. Most recently, two new pieces of promotional art were released at the end of August. These pieces of art depicted the famous barrels scene and the eye of Smaug.

Earlier in August we got another look at the film. A new photo depicted elves Legolas (the beloved The Lord of the Rings character) and newcomer Tauriel.
