His Dark Materials has officially announced their premiere date on HBO and the BBC, and it’s closer than you might think!

We’ve seen some teasers and trailers for it, but we’ve been waiting for the official premiere date for His Dark Materials. Thankfully, we finally know when we can expect the exciting new series to drop on HBO in the States and the BBC in the UK.

The big-budget adaptation of His Dark Materials, based on the Philip Pullman series, will be premiering on the BBC on Sunday, November 3. And in the U.S., you can check out the series on HBO on Monday, November 4.

His Dark Materials follows the story of a girl named Lyra (Dafne Keen), a brave but seemingly ordinary girl from another world. When her friend is kidnapped, her search leads her to uncover an elaborate plot to steal children. She embarks on an amazing journey to uncover the truth and learn what is behind the phenomenon called Dust.

His Dark Materials is certainly an ambitious endeavor. After all, this isn’t the first time someone tried to adapt Pullman’s books. Back in 2007, Golden Compass was made starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Sam Elliott, and Sir Ian McKellan.

Unfortunately, the movie didn’t garner quite the audience needed for such a sprawling epic, and no more movies were made in the trilogy. However, from what we’ve seen in the trailer for the His Dark Materials series, this adaptation has really captured what made so many of us fall in love with Pullman’s books.

Not only does it seem like a beautiful adaptation of the story, but there is quite the impressive cast bringing His Dark Materials to life. In addition to Keen, series regulars include James McAvoy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Ruth Wilson.

We are so excited to see this epic come to life, and we’re even more excited that we don’t have to wait too long for His Dark Materials to premiere. So mark your calendars for November 4, friends, because we’re about to go on an amazing adventure!
