Mark your calendars, His Dark Materials fans— season 2 has finally been given a release date!

Fans itching to reunite with Lyra and follow along on the next chapter of her story won’t have to wait much longer to do so.

In a press release sent out on Monday (October 12), HBO revealed that His Dark Materials season 2 would officially be premiering on November 16.

Fans of the adaptation of Philip Pullman’s best selling series have known since late August that HBO had planned to premiere the highly anticipated second season sometime in November. This is, however, the first we’re hearing of an official premiere date.

In addition to announcing an official start date for the season, the premium cable network also unveiled a brand new poster, which you can check out below.

Season 2 of the hit series picks back up just after Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) has opened the bridge to a new world, with Lyra (Dafne Keen) following close behind him into unknown lands after the devastating death of her best friend.

Suddenly, Lyra finds herself in a strange, seemingly abandoned city. It’s there that she meets a boy named Will (Amir Wilson), who also happens to be running from something he’d rather leave in the past.

Lyra and Will may start off as strangers, but it’s not long before the pair soon discover that their destinies are tied together, and subsequently tied to reuniting Will with his estranged father. Finding Will’s father will be easier said than done though— especially with the prospect of war looming on the horizon.

Meanwhile, in another world, the sinister Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson) hasn’t given up. In fact, she’s doubling down on searching high and low for Lyra, and it’s clear she’ll stop at nothing to bring her home.

His Dark Materials season 2 premieres November 16 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
