Heroes Reborn has named its first lead cast member: Chuck alum Zachary Levi.

The announcement was made by TV Line, who was able to speak with Levi about the news.

“There are a few franchises I’ve always wanted to be a part of, and Heroes is one of them,” he said. “Chuck gave me the opportunity to wield some fun powers, but an entire world with superpowers is a world I’ve always wanted to explore. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with Tim [Kring], and the awesome team around him, in bringing this to life. Moreover, to be working with NBC again [the old home of Chuck] is such a reward in itself, as my bonds and relationships there are deep.”

Nothing is known about Levi’s character at this time, but the report emphasizes that he will have the lead role in the 13-episode miniseries.

Right now the only other cast member who is confirmed for the show is Heroes alum Jack Coleman, reprising his role as Noah Bennett.

Heroes Reborn was first announced by NBC using a surprise trailer during a primetime airing of the 2014 Winter Olympics. Heroes has been off the air since 2010.

At their Television Critics Association panel this morning, NBC also revealed a slew of other news:

– They’ve teamed up with Stevie Wonder to produce a miniseries on the Underground Railroad.

– They’ve signed Dolly Parton to create a series of TV musical movies based on her life and music.

Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is about to start writing his next show for NBC, The Gilded Age.

– NBC’s next musical will either be The Wiz or The Music Man.

– Their series with Jennifer Lopez titled Shades of Blue, a cop show, will begin filming in June.
