TLC has canceled the reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo following a report that revealed Mama June is dating a convicted child molester.

TMZ reported on Thursday that Mama June is dating a man who was once convicted of molesting a child. The abused child was a relative of June’s.

A photo released by TMZ backs up their allegation that June is dating the man in question.

Said the network in a statement on Friday, “TLC has cancelled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”

Mama June denied TMZ’s report last night. “I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors remember you can’t believe everything you read! Ppl sell stories to the tabloid everyday that r false! It isnt true i promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else and I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life this is my past I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn’t go back.”

Despite Mama June’s statement, TLC is clearly siding with TMZ’s report. Perhaps the photo was enough to convince them, or they dug into the situation themselves.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was a hit for TLC thanks to the show’s titular star and her mother. The family lives in Georgia, where the reality show documented their average lives. A new season of the show has already been shot but will not air.

This isn’t the first time a show on TLC fell to pieces following serious allegations. TLC’s popular reality show Jon and Kate Plus Eight began to crumble after the father was accused of cheating on his wife. Though ratings haven’t been the same after the show was renamed Kate Plus Eight and the couple divorced, a new season is reportedly starting up in December.
