Henry Cavill has been getting a lot of attention in the headlines lately, but not necessarily for his acting. In fact, it’s Cavill’s mustache that people just can’t seem to get over.

The Man of Steel star has recently been seen sporting the prominent facial hair for his upcoming role in Mission: Impossible 6, but a recent report in Variety cued fans in on the fact that the mustache in question might be more trouble than it’s worth.

In the post, Variety revealed that Cavill’s facial hair is proving to be quite the problem when it comes to Justice League reshoots. According to the outlet, Cavill has been forbidden from shaving because he’s still in the midst of shooting Mission: Impossible 6. Because of that, the studio behind Justice League now have the tedious task of digitally removing the ‘stache in post-production.

If this story sounds hilariously ridiculous to you, you’re not alone. In fact, Cavill himself clearly finds the whole situation just as ridiculous as the rest of us.

The Superman star took to Instagram to address the controversy in a hilarious post where he joked that his snazzy photo from behind the scenes on MI6 was in fact “a series of weapons being designed by Warner Bros. and Paramount Studios to combat the entity know as ‘Henry Cavill’s Mustache.’”

“There has been no discussion over whether to shave or not to shave for the [Justice League] reshoots, simply a restless campaign to put an end to the seemingly inexorable conquest of this despotic ‘stache,’” joked Cavill in the caption. “It is not a question of if I should shave00 it is a question of how we can possibly be victorious against such a beast without bringing our own doom raining down upon us.”

It’s nice to see that Henry Cavill has such a good sense of humor about how much attention his facial hair has been getting as of late, and we can’t wait to see the infamous ‘stache in action when Mission: Impossible 6 hits the big screen!
