Hollywood stars Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton have called it quits after a 13 year relationship.

The news was discovered by E!, who confirmed the apparently not-so-recent split with Burton’s reps. “Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children,” a statement reads. “We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time.”

Burton and Carter met on the set of 2001’s Planet of the Apes, which he directed and she co-starred in. Since then, the two have worked together on numerous films including Alice in Wonderland, Sweeney Todd, and Big Fish.

The sequel to Alice in Wonderland titled Through the Looking Glass, which Burton is a producer on and Carter is co-starring in, is currently in post-production and has a May 2016 release date.

The couple had two children – one in 2003 and the other in 2007.

Hypable saw the couple at the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley over the summer. This writer had the pleasure of receiving a verbal “sorry” from Carter when she cut the Gringotts line in front of him.

We’re glad to see they will remain friends.
