True Blood season 7 is a go, HBO announced today.

“True Blood remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers,” said Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”

True Blood season 7 will hit HBO in summer 2014. In addition, showrunner Brian Buckner will return to be executive producer.

Bucker took over season 6’s production in March in the midst of filming the season following the sudden departure of Mark Hudis, who had replaced Alan Ball after season 5.
