Another day, another short promo for The Newsroom season 2. We have gotten clips, posters, a cool desert trailer, and now a look at the issue that is going to prove a tough battle for the crew at News Night.

A few weeks ago we got an awesome behind the scenes video where we got a great idea of what The Newsroom season 2 was going to be like. In addition to a quick check-in with all our favorite characters, Jim, Sloane, Mac, Neal, etc, we also get a hint at an overarching storyline that is going to cause a lot of problems for the ACN crew.

In this promo, we get a few great new quotes about the scandal at the heart of season 2, and just how perfect the storm seems to be that will cause the disaster they will have to weather together.

Mac’s 3 lines are as follows: “It was the biggest thing any of us had ever touched,” “It was the most viewed program in the history of cable news,” and “If I’d caught it before instead of after…”

There’s something about Mac’s take on the story that makes us think that maybe the News Night crew got in a little over their heads this time. They have dealt with huge breaking news before, and some of it quite controversial, but this time, they may have gone a little too far over the line.

We also got two great lines from Will McAvoy. First, this quick interaction with Marcia Gay Harden’s character, Rebecca Halliday.

Will: “We ran the story”
Rebecca: “Then you retracted it.”
Will: “Of course we retracted it.”

And then this zinger, which he delivers with the classic Will McAvoy attitude and sneer, “If seventeen different things hadn’t conspired in just the right order… We wouldn’t be sitting here.” It certainly sounds like a serious run of bad luck is about to hit News Night, and we are certainly ready to see it.

Are you ready for ‘The Newsroom’ season 2?
