Insecure’s Issa Rae and Succession’s Adam McKay are joining forces to bring a brand new comedy series to HBO.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO has secured the rights to adapt Nice White Parents into a half-hour comedy series.

The upcoming series (which has already received a pilot order) is based off of the hit podcast of the same name, which hails from the New York Times as well as Serial Productions.

Per the New York Times, the five part podcast focuses on the “60 year relationship between white parents and the public school down the block.”

As THR describes it, HBO’s rendition on the story is being described as a satirical take, focusing instead on the “conflict and comedy that arise when highly resourced white parents, who claim to have the best intentions, wield their influence over generations of Black and brown students within the New York public school system.”

Behind the camera, Issa Rae and Adam McKay will team up to serve as executive producers on the upcoming series. Both are no strangers to working with HBO, having already created hit original series for the premium cable network as part of their overall deals with the network.

Rae currently stars on and serves as showrunner for Insecure, in addition to serving as an execute producer on A Black Lady Sketch Show. Meanwhile, McKay serves as executive producer on the critically acclaimed drama, Succession.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see Rae and McKay’s Nice White Parents debut via HBO.
