HBO Max is plotting a Project Greenlight revival, with Issa Rae on board to take the lead!

Issa Rae is sticking with HBO for her next project.

On Tuesday (May 18), HBO Max announced plans to bring back the critically acclaimed Miramax docuseries, Project Greenlight.

The reimagined revival will shine a spotlight on the next generation female filmmakers, each of whom will be given a chance to direct a feature film as part of an episode.

Golden Globe nominee and Insecure vet Issa Rae is on board to serve as an executive producer on HBO Max’s Project Greenlight revival.

In addition to working on the series behind the scenes, Rae will also appear in every episode. She’ll provide guidance and mentorship to each of the aspiring filmmakers profiled as part of the series. Finished films profiled as part of the new docuseries will, in turn, premiere exclusively via HBO Max.
