Elizabeth Olsen is heading to HBO Max for her next small screen project.

HBO Max announced on Monday (May 3) that it has given a series order to an all new limited series hailing from Lionsgate.

Titled Love and Death, the limited series is inspired by the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs, as well as a collection of articles from Texas Monthly.

Per the series’ official longline, the HBO Max original will center on two church going couples, enjoying small town family life in Texas until somebody picks up an axe.

As for Elizabeth Olsen, the WandaVision vet is set to take on the role of Candy Montgomery for the series. Though the casting announcement didn’t come equipped with more details with regards to her character, it seems as though Candy will be quite multifaceted.

Speaking to Olsen’s involvement and of the series in general, Sarah Aubrey (Head of Original Content, HBO Max) said: “This is a gripping story about the frustrations and desires of two women in a small town that culminates in a terrible act of violence. We are…incredibly fortunate to have Elizabeth at the center of our story to bring out all the layers of Candy that make this story so unforgettable.”

Behind the camera, David E Kelley will serve as writer on the limited series, while Lesli Linka Glatter will serve as director.

Both Kelley and Glatter will also serve as executive producers on the project. Other executive producers on the project include Nicole Kidman and Per Saari through Blossom Films; PScott Brown and Megan Creed through Texas Monthly; Michael Klick and Helen Verno.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Love and Death starring Elizabeth Olsen debut via HBO Max.
