HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon has found its newest cast member in Fabien Frankel. Get the scoop on who he’ll play below!
According to Deadline, actor Fabien Frankel has signed on to star in the prequel series in a major role.
Specifically, Frankel will be taking on the role of the Dornish Ser Criston Cole. The common born son of Lord Blackhaven’s steward, Ser Cole has neither land nor titles. He does, however, have a fair bit of skill with a sword.
House of the Dragon, which was given a straight to series order back in October 2019, is set to be based off of George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, a historic telling of the saga of House Targaryen.
Frankel joins a cast lead by The Crown and Doctor Who alum, Matt Smith.

Smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen in the forthcoming prequel. Heir to the throne and King Visery’s younger brother, Prince Daemon is described as being a warrior and a dragon rider who possesses the true blood of the dragon.
Others set to star alongside Smith and Frankel in the Game of Thrones prequel include Olivia Cooke (Sound of Metal) and Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers).
Cooke and D’Arcy will take on the roles of Alicent Hightower, the daughter of the Hand of the King, and Princess Rhaenyra, respectively.
Currently, there’s still no word on when we might expect to see House of the Dragon debut via HBO.
