HBO has officially released the first trailer for Fahrenheit 451 — watch it below!

Since we first heard word that HBO was bringing Ray Bradbury’s iconic dystopian novel to life, we’ve been itching for a first look at the upcoming adaptation which happens to star Michael B. Jordan.

Now, we’ve finally got our first look at the premium cable network’s Fahrenheit 451 adaptation thanks to a brand new trailer which hit the internet on Monday (February 26.)

Bradbury’s novel, which was first published in 1953, tells the story of a future American society in which books are outlawed, and firemen are the individuals who are tasked with burning any books that are found.

The first trailer for the adaptation does a great job of setting up that general premise, and giving us a good feel for the world we’ll be plunged into when the film hits HBO later this spring.

Jordan stars as Guy Montag in the film, while Michael Shannon plays Montag’s boss, Captain Beatty. It’s Beatty’s spine-tingling rhetoric that takes center stage it the short teaser as he spews out lines like, “We are not born equal, so we must be made equal by the fire.”

Directed by Ramin Bahrani, the film also stars Sofia Boutella as Clarisse McClellan, Martin Donovan as Commander Nyari, and YouTube star Lilly Singh as Raven.

HBO’s Fahrenheit 451 premieres on the network in May.
