Warner Bros. Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter is set to get a small expansion next month when they open a limited-run area featuring the sets of the dark arts scenes.

For one week only (October 27 to November 4) you can learn how the costumes were made for baddies like Snape, learn about several make up techniques, and “come face-to-face” with Death Eaters. Visitors will also get to participate in a Potions lesson, see over 500 jars that were handwritten and used on set, and get a glimpse at a few Prophecy orbs from Order of the Phoenix.

While the new area sounds nice, we’re put off by the fact that this area will only be open for a week. Given that the Studio Tour is an attraction many people have to greatly travel to, it should be a permanent fixture. We hope they decide to open it for the long run after seeing its inevitable success.

The Harry Potter Studio Tour sits at the exact location where all eight films were shot at Leavesden Studios. Read our review of the tour.

A few weeks ago they announced another additional element: A bridge seen in several films. Unlike the dark arts area, the bridge is open for the foreseeable future.

Thanks, Snitch Seeker.
