And this time, Puffs has an open-ended run!

People can’t get enough of Puffs, the play all about the Hufflepuffs in Harry’s year. Next month, the Puffs will be moving to a new common room: New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), about seven blocks north of its current home.

Puffs has been running at the Elektra Theatre since September, and they’ve just kept adding performances to meet the growing demand from Potter fans. By now, over 20,000 fans have seen the show at the Elektra. They will play their last performance there on Sunday, July 2.

Wasting no time, the Puffs will be up and running at New World Stages on Saturday, July 8. For the first time, there is no end in sight for the Puffs – because really, there’s only so many ways one can announce an extension!

New World Stages, the Puffs’ third (or nothing) home, is an off-Broadway complex of five theatres. It has hosted iconic off-Broadway shows over the years, such as Heathers the Musical and Clinton the Musical. Lately, they seem to be focusing more on getting permanent residents into their theatres.

The Puffs’ new neighbors will be Avenue Q (which transferred to New World from Broadway and just celebrated 400 weeks there); the kid-friendly Gazillion Bubble Show (which has been encasing people in bubbles for a decade); and the booze-soaked The Imbible.

More good news: Puffs is adding a sixth show every week! Aw, seems like only a few months ago they tentatively added a fourth weekly performance. They will now have performances every evening Friday through Monday, and “family-friendly” matinees on weekends. The cast will remain the same, but the design elements (sets & costumes) will be different. We can’t wait to see what our past interviewee Madeleine Bundy comes up with.
