Oyster is teaming up with Pottermore to bring the entire Harry Potter series to readers who want to rent books like they would movies on Netflix.

In a first for any eBook service, all ten books in the Harry Potter series will be available under a monthly subscription. Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited – a similar service – only offers the seven base Harry Potter novels. Oyster’s also includes J.K. Rowling’s charitable efforts Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Pottermore and Oyster have also teamed up to create a unique experience for readers when they open any of the Harry Potter books. Upon selecting your first Potter novel, you’ll be prompted to select a House Theme “to read in”:

Oyster, a company best described as the Netflix for books, gives you access to a huge collection of books from several well known publishers for $9.95/month. Their two largest publishers are HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster.

In a press release, Oyster says that “Harry Potter” has been one of the most-searched-for terms on their site. Naturally they’re thrilled that they can now offer the books to their users.

To celebrate today’s news Oyster is giving away a trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando.

Do you use Oyster?

It looks like a great service for those who want to read more without the high cost that purchasing lots of books requires (Libraries are good for this type of thing too).
