Soon you’ll be able to stream all eight Harry Potter movies, plus Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, commercial free.

Update: HBO tells Hypable that the movies will be available for six months.

HBO has announced that all nine Wizarding World movies will be airing and streaming on their network beginning January 1, 2018. This is the first time that the complete franchise is airing commercial-free, and available for streaming, from one cabler.

To celebrate the news, HBO will hold a 1-day marathon on New Years Day on their flagship channel. All nine movies will run back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back, ending with Fantastic Beasts early on January 2.

Then HBO will air one movie every day between January 2 – 10:

  1. Tuesday, January 2nd – Sorcerer’s Stone
  2. Wednesday, January 3rd – Chamber of Secrets
  3. Thursday, January 4th – Prisoner of Azkaban
  4. Friday, January 5th – Goblet of Fire
  5. Saturday, January 6th – Order of the Phoenix
  6. Sunday, January 7th – Half-Blood Prince
  7. Monday, January 8th – Deathly Hallows, Part 1
  8. Tuesday, January 9th – Deathly Hallows, Part 2
  9. Wednesday, January 10th – Fantastic Beasts

“We are delighted to welcome the Harry Potter films to our catalogue of award-winning original programming and crowd-pleasing theatrical films. HBO has a long-standing reputation as the home of the best classic and recently released Hollywood movies, and having the Harry Potter franchise furthers our objective to bring quality entertainment to our subscribers across all of our platforms,” says Bruce Grivetti, Executive Vice President, Business Affairs and President, Film Programming.

Earlier this year we learned that NBC TV had acquired the rights to the Harry Potter movies. They’ll begin airing on USA Network and Syfy in July 2018, after their run on HBO.
