A new Harry Potter book from The British Library and Bloomsbury will unveil some new goods from J.K. Rowling’s vast Wizarding World archives.

Timed with the opening of Harry Potter: A History of Magic: The Exhibition at the British Library (running October 20 through February 28), the books will “echo the contents of the exhibition, which takes visitors on a journey to where magic and myth began using an extraordinary range of wizarding books, manuscripts and objects, and combine fascinating treasures from the British Library’s collections with previously-unseen material from the Bloomsbury archive and J.K. Rowling.”

The new book, Harry Potter: A Journey Through A History of Magic, includes “unseen sketches and manuscript pages from J.K. Rowling, magical illustrations from Jim Kay and weird, wonderful and inspiring artefacts that have been magically released from the archives at the British Library.”

We assume those illustrations from Jim Kay are the same ones that he’s drawn for the Harry Potter Illustrated Edition series.

The exhibition is launching to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter series. Philosopher’s Stone was published 20 years ago this Monday, June 26.

The book, set for a release on October 20, will be available at the British Library and through retailers. You can pre-order online from Bloomsbury, who appears to be shipping the book worldwide.

The new manuscript pages and sketches could potentially offer fans new details and deleted scenes to obsess over. Can’t wait!
