As we eagerly await the release of the Harry Potter Illustrated Editions beginning this fall, Bloomsbury has unveiled another piece of artwork from Philosopher’s / Sorcerer’s Stone.

In an email sent out this morning, the U.K. publisher celebrated five months until the first Illustrated Edition is released by sharing this illustration of Harry living under the stairs. As fans know, it is in this cupboard where the Dursleys are making Harry live as they deal with the Chosen One this brat living under their roof.

The latest illustration from Sorcerer’s / Philosopher’s Stone is another wonderful look inside this new edition of J.K. Rowling’s magical series. The amount of detail we’ve seen in the illustrations so far is remarkable.

Bloomsbury’s email blast includes a brief review from The Bookseller, who appears to have received an early copy of the book. “I’m willing to call this the most handsome and desirable gift book of the year,” said Fiona Noble. “It is stunning…with full colour illustrations throughout from Greenaway Medal winner Kay, who breathes incredible life into these much-loved characters and locations, staying faithful to Rowling’s vision but revitalising the story for a new generation.”

Bloomsbury and Scholastic will be releasing one Illustrated Edition every year, with the first book in the Harry Potter series hitting store shelves this October.

The two publishers, who’ve promised to debut each book in the Illustrated Edition series simultaneously in their respective countries, recently revealed the cover for the first book. It depicts Harry walking beside the Hogwarts Express, which has received a dragon-esque update for the Illustrated Editions.
